Chapter 37: Rāma, Lakṣmaṇa and Sītā Wear Clothes of Bark
Text 2.37.15
रामं प्रेक्ष्य तु सीताया बध्नन्तं चीरमुत्तमम्।
अन्तःपुरगता नार्यो मुमुचुर्वारि नेत्रजम्॥
rāmaṁ prekṣya tu sītāyā badhnantaṁ cīram uttamam
antaḥ-pura-gatā nāryo mumucur vāri netrajam
rāmam = Rāma; prekṣya tu = noticing; sītāyāḥ = Sītā-devī; badhnantam = dressing; cīram = with such clothes; uttamam = the excellent; antaḥ-pura-gatāḥ = from the inner quarters; nāryaḥ = the ladies; mumucuḥ = shed; vāri = tears; netrajam = from their eyes.
Noticing the excellent Rāma dressing Sītā-devī with such clothes, the ladies from the inner quarters shed tears from their eyes.
