नेयमर्हति कल्याणी वस्तुं तापसवद्वने॥

lakṣmaṇena sahāyena vanaṁ gacchasva putraka
neyam arhati kalyāṇī vastuṁ tāpasavad vane

lakṣmaṇena = of Lakṣmaṇa; sahāyena = with the assistance; vanam = to the forest; gacchasva = go; putraka = dear son; na = not; iyam = this; arhati = should; kalyāṇī = auspicious lady; vastum = live; tāpasavat = like ascetics; vane = in the forest.

Dear son, go to the forest with the assistance of Lakṣmaṇa. This auspicious lady should not live in the forest like the ascetics.

GLOSS. Sahāyena can also be split into saha and ayena which indicates that Daśaratha wanted to go to the forest with good fortune.
