Chapter 37: Rāma, Lakṣmaṇa and Sītā Wear Clothes of Bark
Text 2.37.27
भरतश्च सशत्रुघ्नश्चीरवासा वनेचरः।
वने वसन्तं काकुत्स्थमनुवत्स्यति पूर्वजम्।।
bharataś ca saśatrughnaś cīra-vāsā vanecaraḥ
vane vasantaṁ kākutstham anuvatsyati pūrvajam
bharataḥ = Bharata; ca = and; saśatrughnaḥ = along with Śatrughna; cīra-vāsā = will wear clothes of bark; vanecaraḥ = wander in the forest; vane = in the forest; vasantam = as long as He resides; kākutstham = the descendant of Kakutstha; anuvatsyati = follow; pūrvajam = His elder brother.
Along with Śatrughna, Bharata will wear clothes of bark, wander in the forest and follow His elder brother, the descendant of Kakutstha, as long as He resides in the forest.
