एकस्य रामस्य वने निवासस्त्वया वृतः केकयराजपुत्रि।
विभूषितेयं प्रतिकर्मनित्या वसत्वरण्ये सह राघवेण॥
ekasya rāmasya vane nivāsas
tvayā vṛtaḥ kekaya-rāja-putri
vibhūṣiteyaṁ pratikarma-nityā
vasatv araṇye saha rāghaveṇa
ekasya = only; rāmasya = Rāma’s; vane = in the forest; nivāsaḥ = residence; tvayā = you; vṛtaḥ = had asked for; kekaya-rāja-putri = O daughter of the king of Kekaya; vibhūṣitā = decorated lady; iyam = this; pratikarma-nityā = always fit to be ornamented; vasatu = let reside; araṇye = in the forest; saha = with; rāghaveṇa = Rāghava.
“O daughter of the king of Kekaya, you had only asked for Rāma’s residence in the forest. Let this decorated lady always fit to be ornamented reside in the forest with Rāghava.
1 Lakṣmī literally resides in the chest of Nārāyaṇa.
GLOSS. Vibhūṣitā indicates that she always resides in the Almighty Supreme Soul—she has taken shelter of His chest.1
