Chapter 40: Rāma Departs from Ayodhyā
Text 2.40.15
अथो ज्वलनसङ्काशं चामीकरविभूषितम्।
तमारुरुहतुस्तूर्णं भ्रातरौ रामलक्ष्मणौ॥
atho jvalana-saṅkāśaṁ cāmīkara-vibhūṣitam
tam āruruhatus tūrṇaṁ bhrātarau rāma-lakṣmaṇau
atho = then; jvalana-saṅkāśaṁ = firelike; cāmīkara-vibhūṣitam = decorated with gold; tam = that chariot; āruruhatuḥ = climbed on; tūrṇaṁ = quickly; bhrātarau = the brothers; rāma-lakṣmaṇau = Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa.
Then the brothers Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa quickly climbed on that firelike chariot decorated with gold.
The chariot was firelike because it was filled with weapons.
