Chapter 42: Daśaratha Goes to Kausalyā’s Residence in Distress
Text 2.42.18
द्रक्ष्यन्ति नूनं पुरुषा दीर्घबाहुं वनेचराः।
राममुत्थाय गच्छन्तं लोकनाथमनाथवत्॥
drakṣyanti nūnaṁ puruṣā dīrgha-bāhuṁ vanecarāḥ
rāmam utthāya gacchantaṁ loka-nātham anāthavat
drakṣyanti = will look at; nūnam = certainly; puruṣāḥ = men; dīrgha-bāhum = the long-armed; vanecarāḥ = living in the forest; rāmam = Rāma; utthāya = getting up; gacchantam = and walking; loka-nātham = the protector of the world; anāthavat = as if He is unprotected.
Men living in the forest will certainly look at the long-armed Rāma, the protector of the world, getting up and walking as if He is unprotected.
