Chapter 42: Daśaratha Goes to Kausalyā’s Residence in Distress
Text 2.42.19

सा नूनं जनकस्येष्टा सुता सुखसदोचिता।
कण्टकाक्रमणक्लान्ता वनमद्य गमिष्यति॥

sā nūnaṁ janakasyeṣṭā sutā sukha-sadocitā
kaṇṭakākramaṇa-klāntā vanam adya gamiṣyati

= the; nūnam = certainly; janakasya = of Janaka; iṣṭā = cherished; sutā = daughter; sukha-sadā-ucitā = always habituated to comfort; kaṇṭaka-ākramaṇa-klāntā = she would be pained upon stepping on thorns; vanam = to the forest; adya = now; gamiṣyati = will go.

Now the cherished daughter of Janaka, always habituated to comfort, will certainly go to the forest. She would be pained upon stepping on thorns.
