Chapter 42: Daśaratha Goes to Kausalyā’s Residence in Distress
Text 2.42.20

अनभिज्ञा वनानां सा नूनं भयमुपैष्यति।
श्वापदानर्दितं श्रुत्वा गम्भीरं रोमहर्षणम्॥

anabhijñā vanānāṁ sā nūnam bhayam upaiṣyati
śvāpadānarditaṁ śrutvā gambhīraṁ roma-harṣaṇam

anabhijñā = is inexperienced; vanānām = about forests; = she; nūnam = certainly; bhayam = frightened; upaiṣyati = she will become; śvāpada-ānarditam = and loud roars of ferocious beasts like tigers; śrutvā = hearing; gambhīram = the grave; roma-harṣaṇam = that cause the hair to stand on end.

She is inexperienced about forests. Hearing the grave and loud roars of ferocious beasts like tigers that cause the hair to stand on end, she will certainly become frightened.
