Chapter 44: Sumitrā Consoles Kausalyā
Text 2.44.22

शिरसा चरणावेतौ वन्दमानमनिन्दिते।
पुनर्द्रक्ष्यसि कल्याणि पुत्रं चन्द्रमिवोदितम्॥

śirasā caraṇāv etau vandamānam anandite
punar drakṣyasi kalyāṇi putraṁ candram ivoditam

śirasā = with His head; caraṇau etau = to your auspicious feet; vandamānam = offering respects; anindite = O irreproachable; punaḥ = again; drakṣyasi = you will see; kalyāṇi = auspicious lady; putram = your son; candram = moon; iva = resembling; uditam = the rising.

O irreproachable auspicious lady, you will again see your son, resembling the rising moon, offering respects to your auspicious feet with His head.

“The rising moon” here refers to the moon on the first day [after Amāvāsyā].
