Chapter 44: Sumitrā Consoles Kausalyā
Text 2.44.26
नार्हा त्वं शोचितुं देवि यस्यास्ते राघवः सुतः।
न हि रामात्परो लोके विद्यते सत्पथे स्थितः॥
nārhā tvaṁ śocituṁ devi yasyās te rāghavaḥ sutaḥ
na hi rāmāt paro loke vidyate sat-pathe sthitaḥ
na = not; arhā = should; tvam = you; śocitum = lament; devi = O queen; yasyāḥ = you have; te = your; rāghavaḥ = Rāghava; sutaḥ = as son; na = none; hi = because; rāmāt = to Rāma; paraḥ = superior; loke = in the world; vidyate = there is; sat-pathe = on the path of auspiciousness; sthitaḥ = situated.
O queen, you have Rāghava as your son. You should not lament because there is none superior to Rāma in the world situated on the path of auspiciousness.
