Chapter 45: The Brāhmaṇas from Ayodhyā Follow Rāma
Text 2.45.24
या हि नः सततं बुद्धिर्वेदमन्त्रानुसारिणी।
त्वत्कृते सा कृता वत्स वनवासानुसारिणी॥
yā hi naḥ satataṁ buddhir veda-mantrānusāriṇī
tvat-kṛte sā kṛtā vatsa vana-vāsānusāriṇī
yā hi = which; naḥ = our; satatam = always; buddhiḥ = intelligence; veda-mantra-anusāriṇī = was focused on Vedic mantras; tvat-kṛte = Your; sā kṛtā = has now become; vatsa = dear child; vana-vāsa-anusāriṇī = focused on residence in the forest.
Dear child, our intelligence which was always focused on Vedic mantras has now become focused on Your residence in the forest.
They held Śrī Rāmacandra to be greatly responsible for the fact that their intelligence, which was formerly focused on mantras without any anxiety, was now focused on His residence in the forest.
