Chapter 45: The Brāhmaṇas from Ayodhyā Follow Rāma
Text 2.45.23
अनवाप्तातपत्रस्य रश्मिसन्तापितस्य ते।
एभिश्छायां करिष्यामः स्वैश्छत्रैर्वाजपेयिकैः॥
anavāptātapatrasya raśmi-santāpitasya te
ebhiś chāyāṁ kariṣyāmaḥ svaiś chatrair vājapeyikaiḥ
anavāpta-ātapatrasya = You didn’t receive a white umbrella; raśmi-santāpitasya = and are burning in the rays of the sun; te = You; ebhiḥ = here; chāyām kariṣyāmaḥ = we will provide shade; svaiḥ = with our; chatraiḥ = umbrellas; vājapeyikaiḥ = that we got for our Vājapeya performances.
You didn’t receive a white umbrella and are burning in the rays of the sun.1 We will provide You shade with our umbrellas here that we got for our Vājapeya performances.

Performers of the Vājapeya sacrifices are prescribed [in the scriptures] to hold white umbrellas 1.
