Chapter 46: Rāma Leaves the Brāhmaṇas to go to the Forest
Text 2.46.8
भरतस्यानृशंसत्वं विचिन्त्याहं पुनः पुनः।
नानुशोचामि पितरं मातरं चापि लक्ष्मण॥
bharatasyānṛśaṁsatvaṁ vicintyāhaṁ punaḥ punaḥ
nānuśocāmi pitaraṁ mātaraṁ cāpi lakṣmaṇa
bharatasya = Bharata’s; anṛśaṁsatvam = harmless nature; vicintya = by remembering; aham = I; punaḥ punaḥ = repeatedly; na anuśocāmi = don’t lament; pitaram = for My father; mātaram = mother; ca api = and; lakṣmaṇa = Lakṣmaṇa.
Lakṣmaṇa, by repeatedly remembering Bharata’s harmless nature, I don’t lament for My father and mother.
