Chapter 47: The Brāhmaṇas Return to Ayodhyā in Distress
Text 2.47.9

किं वक्ष्यामो महाबाहुरनसूयः प्रियंवदः।
नीतः स राघवोऽस्माभिरिति वक्तुं कथं क्षमम्॥

kiṁ vakṣyāmo mahā-bāhur anasūyaḥ priyaṁvadaḥ
nītaḥ sa rāghavo ’smābhir iti vaktuṁ kathaṁ kṣamam

kim = what; vakṣyāmaḥ = can we tell [others]; mahā-bāhuḥ = mighty-armed; anasūyaḥ = nonenvious; priyaṁvadaḥ = of sweet speech; nītaḥ = took to the forest; saḥ = the; rāghavaḥ = Rāghava; asmābhiḥ iti = we; vaktum = to say; katham kṣamam = how is it possible.

What can we tell [others]? How is it possible to say, “We took the mighty-armed, nonenvious Rāghava of sweet speech to the forest”?
