Chapter 48: The Ladies in Ayodhyā Lament
Text 2.48.31
नूनं पुरुषशार्दूलो मत्तमातङ्गविक्रमः।
शोभयिष्यत्यरण्यानि विचरन्स महारथः॥
nūnaṁ puruṣa-śārdūlo matta-mātaṅga-vikramaḥ
śobhayiṣyaty araṇyāni vicaran sa mahā-rathaḥ
nūnam = certainly; puruṣa-śārdūlaḥ = prince; matta-mātaṅga-vikramaḥ = His heroic gait is like that of an intoxicated elephant; śobhayiṣyati = He will beautify; araṇyāni = the forests; vicaran = while wandering [amidst them]; saḥ = that; mahā-rathaḥ = is a great chariot-fighter.
That prince is a great chariot-fighter. His heroic gait is like that of an intoxicated elephant. He will certainly beautify the forests while wandering [amidst them].
