Chapter 50: The Meeting of Rāma and Guha
Text 2.50.26
तामूर्मिकलिलावर्तामन्ववेक्ष्य महारथः।
सुमन्त्रमब्रवीत्सूतमिहैवाद्य वसामहे॥
tām ūrmi-kalilāvartām anvavekṣya mahā-rathaḥ
sumantram abravīt sūtam ihaivādya vasāmahe
tām = Gaṅgā; ūrmi-kalila-āvartām = to be filled with pools mixed with waves; anvavekṣya = upon observing; mahā-rathaḥ = the great chariot-fighter Rāma; sumantram = Sumantra; abravīt = told; sūtam = His charioteer; iha eva = here; adya = for today; vasāmahe = let us reside.
Upon observing Gaṅgā to be filled with pools mixed with waves, the great chariot-fighter Rāmacandra told His charioteer Sumantra: “Let us reside here for today.
