Chapter 52: Rāma Crosses the Gaṅgā on Guha’s Boat
Text 2.52.5
स तु रामस्य वचनं निशम्य प्रतिगृह्य च।
स्थपतिस्तूर्णमाहूय सचिवानिदमब्रवीत्॥
sa tu rāmasya vacanaṁ niśamya pratigṛhya ca
sthapatis tūrṇam āhūya sacivān idam abravīt
saḥ tu = the; rāmasya = Rāma’s; vacanam = instruction; niśamya = heard and; pratigṛhya ca = and accepted; sthapatiḥ = chief of the niṣādas; tūrṇam = quickly; āhūya = he called for and; sacivān = his assistants; idam = as follows; abravīt = spoke [to them].
The chief of the niṣādas heard and accepted Rāma’s instruction. He quickly called for his assistants and spoke [to them] as follows.
Guha bowed his head before Rāma and told Him, “I will do as You say.”
