Chapter 52: Rāma Crosses the Gaṅgā on Guha’s Boat
Text 2.52.9
तवामरसुतप्रख्य तर्तुं सागरगां नदीम्।
नौरियं पुरुषव्याघ्र तां त्वमारोह सुव्रत॥
tavāmara-suta-prakhya tartuṁ sāgaragāṁ nadīm
naur iyaṁ puruṣa-vyāghra tām tvam āroha suvrata
tava = for You; amara-suta-prakhya = who resembles the son of a deva; tartum = to cross over; sāgaragām = that flows to the ocean; nadīm = this river; nauḥ = a boat; iyam = here is; puruṣa-vyāghra = O prince; tām = on it; tvam āroha = climb; suvrata = O Rāma of auspicious vows.
“O prince who resembles the son of a deva, here is a boat for You to cross over this river that flows to the ocean. O Rāma of auspicious vows, climb on it.”
