Chapter 52: Rāma Crosses the Gaṅgā on Guha’s Boat
Text 2.52.43
दृष्टं तद्धि त्वया राम यादृशं त्वत्प्रवासने।
प्रजानां सङ्कुलं वृत्तं त्वच्छोकक्लान्तचेतसाम्॥
dṛṣṭaṁ tad dhi tvayā rāma yādṛśaṁ tvat-pravāsane
prajānāṁ saṅkulaṁ vṛttaṁ tvac-choka-klānta-cetasām
dṛṣṭam = saw; tat hi = the; tvayā = You; rāma = Rāma; yādṛśam = sort of; tvat-pravāsane = when You had left the city; prajānām = by the citizens; saṅkulam = agitation; vṛttam = experienced; tvat-śoka-klānta-cetasām = whose minds were tired out of their distress about You.
Rāma, when You had left the city, You saw the sort of agitation experienced by the citizens whose minds were tired out of their distress about You.
