Chapter 52: Rāma Crosses the Gaṅgā on Guha’s Boat
Text 2.52.48

तन्न शक्ष्याम्यहं गन्तुमयोध्यां त्वदृतेऽनघ।
वनवासानुयानाय मामनुज्ञातुमर्हसि॥

tan na śakṣyāmy ahaṁ gantum ayodhyāṁ tvad-ṛte ’nagha
vana-vāsānuyānāya mām anujñātum arhasi

tat = so; na śakṣyāmi = cannot; aham = I; gantum = go; ayodhyām = to Ayodhyā; tvat-ṛte = without You; anagha = O sinless one; vana-vāsa-anuyānāya = to follow You while You reside in the forest; mām = me; anujñātum arhasi = please permit.

So, O sinless one, I cannot go to Ayodhyā without You. Please permit me to follow You while You reside in the forest.
