Chapter 52: Rāma Crosses the Gaṅgā on Guha’s Boat
Text 2.52.53
इमे चापि हया वीर यदि ते वनवासिनः।
परिचर्यां करिष्यन्ति प्राप्स्यन्ति परमां गतिम्॥
ime cāpi hayā vīra yadi te vana-vāsinaḥ
paricaryāṁ kariṣyanti prāpsyanti paramāṁ gatim
ime ca = these; api = even; hayāḥ = horses; vīra = O hero; yadi = if; te = while You; vana-vāsinaḥ = reside in the forest; paricaryām kariṣyanti = they render menial service [unto You]; prāpsyanti = will attain; paramām = the highest; gatim = destination.
O hero, even these horses will attain the highest destination if they render menial service [unto You] while You reside in the forest.
