Chapter 52: Rāma Crosses the Gaṅgā on Guha’s Boat
Text 2.52.56
वनवासे क्षयं प्राप्ते ममैष हि मनोरथः।
यदनेन रथेनैव त्वां वहेयं पुरीं पुनः॥
vana-vāse kṣayaṁ prāpte mamaiṣa hi mano-rathaḥ
yad anena rathenaiva tvāṁ vaheyaṁ purīṁ punaḥ
vana-vāse = when the residence in the forest; kṣayam = its end; prāpte = has reached; mama = my; eṣaḥ hi = it is; manaḥ-rathaḥ = cherished desire; yat = to; anena = on this; rathena = chariot; eva = very; tvām = You; vaheyam = drive; purīm = to the city; punaḥ = back.
When the residence in the forest has reached its end, it is my cherished desire to drive You back to the city on this very chariot.
