Chapter 52: Rāma Crosses the Gaṅgā on Guha’s Boat
Text 2.52.81
ततस्तैश्चोदिता सा नौः कर्णधारसमाहिता।
शुभस्फ्यवेगाभिहता शीघ्रं सलिलमत्यगात्॥
tatas taiś coditā sā nauḥ karṇadhāra-samāhitā
śubha-sphya-vegābhihatā śīghraṁ salilam atyagāt
tataḥ = then; taiḥ = by them; coditā = driven; sā = the; nauḥ = boat; karṇadhāra-samāhitā = its captain was very attentive; śubha-sphya-vega-abhihatā = and the boat trembled due to the force of its beautiful oars; śīghram = quickly; salilam = through the water; atyagāt = sailed.
Then, driven by them, the boat quickly sailed through the water. Its captain was very attentive and the boat trembled due to the force of its beautiful oars.
