Chapter 52: Rāma Crosses the Gaṅgā on Guha’s Boat
Text 2.52.82
मध्यं तु समनुप्राप्य भागीरथ्यास्त्वनिन्दिता।
वैदेही प्राञ्जलिर्भूत्वा तां नदीमिदमब्रवीत्॥
madhyaṁ tu samanuprāpya bhāgīrathyās tv aninditā
vaidehī prāñjalir bhūtvā tāṁ nadīm idam abravīt
madhyam tu = the middle; samanuprāpya = having reached; bhāgīrathyāḥ tu = of Bhāgīrathī; aninditā = the irreproachable; vaidehī = Vaidehī; prāñjaliḥ bhūtvā = joined her palms in supplication and; tām = to that; nadīm = river; idam = the following words; abravīt = and spoke.
Having reached the middle of Bhāgīrathī, the irreproachable Vaidehī joined her palms in supplication and spoke the following words to that river.
