Canto 2 -
Ayodhyā-kāṇḍa
Chapter 52: Rāma Crosses the Gaṅgā on Guha’s Boat
Text 2.52.86

त्वं हि त्रिपथगा देवि ब्रह्मलोकं समीक्षसे।
भार्या चोदधिराजस्य लोकेऽस्मिन्संप्रदृश्यसे॥

tvaṁ hi tri-pathagā devi brahma-lokaṁ samīkṣase
bhāryā codadhi-rājasya loke ’smin sampradṛśyase

tvam hi = you; tri-pathagā = traverse three paths; devi = O goddess; brahma-lokam = Brahmaloka; samīkṣase = you observe; bhāryā ca = as the wife; udadhi-rājasya = of the king of the ocean; loke = world; asmin = in this; sampradṛśyase = you are seen.

O goddess, you traverse three paths. You observe Brahmaloka. In this world, you are seen as the wife of the king of the ocean.

Gaṅgā observes Brahmaloka because she is liquid form of dharma in Brahmā’s kamaṇḍalu used by Brahmā for washing Lord Viṣṇu’s lotus feet. Therefore it was mentioned earlier [in text 2.50.24] that she had emanated from His lotus feet.
