Chapter 52: Rāma Crosses the Gaṅgā on Guha’s Boat
Text 2.52.99
श्रुत्वा रामस्य वचनं प्रतस्थे लक्ष्मणोऽग्रतः।
अनन्तरं च सीताया राघवो रघुनन्दनः॥
śrutvā rāmasya vacanaṁ pratasthe lakṣmaṇo ’grataḥ
anantaraṁ ca sītāyā rāghavo raghu-nandanaḥ
śrutvā = upon hearing; rāmasya = Rāma’s; vacanam = words; pratasthe = went; lakṣmaṇaḥ = Lakṣmaṇa; agrataḥ = in the front; anantaram ca sītāyāḥ = followed Sītā; rāghavaḥ = Rāghava; raghu-nandanaḥ = who delights the Raghus.
Upon hearing Rāma’s words, Lakṣmaṇa went in the front. Rāghava who delighted the Raghus followed Sītā.
