Chapter 54: Rāmacandra Meets Bharadvāja Ṛṣi
Text 2.54.15
पित्रा प्रव्राज्यमानं मां सौमित्रिरनुजः प्रियः।
अयमन्वगमद्भ्राता वनमेव दृढव्रतः॥
pitrā pravrājyamānaṁ māṁ saumitrir anujaḥ priyaḥ
ayam anvagamad bhrātā vanam eva dṛḍha-vrataḥ
pitrā = by My father; pravrājyamānam = for I have been banished; mām = Me; saumitriḥ = the son of Sumitrā-devī; anujaḥ = younger; priyaḥ = My beloved; ayam = and He has; anvagamat = followed; bhrātā = brother here; vanam eva = to the forest; dṛḍha-vrataḥ = is firm in His vows.
My beloved younger brother here, the son of Sumitrā-devī, is firm in His vows and he has followed Me to the forest for I have been banished by My father.
