Chapter 54: Rāmacandra Meets Bharadvāja Ṛṣi
Text 2.54.16
पित्रा नियुक्ता भगवन्प्रवेक्ष्यामस्तपोवनम्।
धर्ममेव चरिष्यामस्तत्र मूलफलाशनाः॥
pitrā niyuktā bhagavan pravekṣyāmas tapo-vanam
dharmam eva cariṣyāmas tatra mūla-phalāśanāḥ
pitrā = of My father; niyuktāḥ = on the order; bhagavan = O Lord; pravekṣyāmaḥ = we will enter; tapaḥ-vanam = the forest for austerities; dharmam eva = the dharma of carrying out his order; cariṣyāmaḥ = we will follow; tatra = there; mūla-phala-aśanāḥ = eating roots and fruits.
O Lord, we will enter the forest for austerities on the order of My father. We will follow the dharma of carrying out his order, eating roots and fruits there.
