Chapter 54: Rāmacandra Meets Bharadvāja Ṛṣi
Text 2.54.23

एवमुक्तस्तु वचनं भरद्वाजेन राघवः।
प्रत्युवाच शुभं वाक्यं रामः सर्वहिते रतः॥

evam uktas tu vacanaṁ bharadvājena rāghavaḥ
pratyuvāca śubhaṁ vākyaṁ rāmaḥ sarva-hite rataḥ

evam uktaḥ tu vacanam = spoke these words; bharadvājena = when Bharadvāja; rāghavaḥ = to Rāghava; pratyuvāca = replied to him; śubham = with the following auspicious; vākyam = words; rāmaḥ = Rāma; sarva-hite = in everyone’s benefit; rataḥ = absorbed.

When Bharadvāja spoke these words to Rāghava, Rāma, absorbed in everyone’s benefit, replied to him with the following auspicious words.

NOTE. The Supreme Personality of Godhead is the greatest well-wisher of all. Prabhupāda states this thus:

Kṛṣṇa is the supreme living entity. And since Kṛṣṇa is the source of our generation, or the supreme father, no one can be a better friend than Kṛṣṇa, nor can anyone be a better well-wisher. (Bhagavad-gītā 9.18 purport)
