Chapter 54: Rāmacandra Meets Bharadvāja Ṛṣi
Text 2.54.31
ऋषयस्तत्र बहवो विहृत्य शरदां शतम्।
तपसा दिवमारूढाः कपालशिरसा सह॥
ṛṣayas tatra bahavo vihṛtya śaradāṁ śatam
tapasā divam ārūḍhāḥ kapāla-śirasā saha
ṛṣayaḥ = sages; tatra = there; bahavaḥ vihṛtya = having happily spent; śaradām = autumns; śatam = a hundred; tapasā = in austerities; divam = to the heavens; ārūḍhāḥ = have ascended; kapāla-śirasā saha = with the sage Kapāla-śirā.
Having happily spent a hundred autumns there in austerities, sages have ascended to the heavens with the sage Kapāla-śirā.
Persons of great austerities have engaged in [extreme] austerities for a hundred autumns there as if in sport.
