Chapter 55: Rāma Leaves Bharadvāja’s Āśrama and Crosses the Yamunā
Text 2.55.15

ततो वेतसशाखाश्च जम्बूशाखाश्च वीर्यवान्।
चकार लक्ष्मणश्छित्वा सीतायाः सुखमासनम्॥

tato vetasa-śākhāś ca jambū-śākhāś ca vīryavān
cakāra lakṣmaṇaś chittvā sītāyāḥ sukham āsanam

tataḥ = then; vetasa-śākhāḥ = the branches of reed; ca = and; jambū-śākhāḥ = rose-apple trees; ca = and; vīryavān = the heroic; cakāra = made; lakṣmaṇaḥ = Lakṣmaṇa; chittvā = cut; sītāyāḥ = for Sītā-devī; sukham = a comfortable; āsanam = seat.

The heroic Lakṣmaṇa then cut the branches of reed and rose-apple trees and made a comfortable seat for Sītā-devī.
