Chapter 55: Rāma Leaves Bharadvāja’s Āśrama and Crosses the Yamunā

कौसल्यां चैव पश्येयं सुमित्रां च यशस्विनीम्।
इति सीताञ्जलिं कृत्वा पर्यगच्छद्वनस्पतिम्॥
kausalyāṁ caiva paśyeyaṁ sumitrāṁ ca yaśasvinīm
iti sītāñjaliṁ kṛtvā paryagacchad vanaspatim
kausalyām ca eva = Kausalyā-devī; paśyeyam = may I able to see; sumitrām = Sumitrā-devī; ca = and; yaśasvinīm = the illustrious; iti = then; sītā-añjalim kṛtvā = Sītā-devī joined her palms in supplication; paryagacchat = circumambulated; vanaspatim = the tree.
“May I be able to see the illustrious Kausalyā-devī and Sumitrā-devī.” Then Sītā-devī joined her palms in supplication and circumambulated the tree.
