Chapter 56: Rāma Reaches Citrakūṭa
Text 2.56.10
मातङ्गयूथानुसृतं पक्षिसंघानुनादितम्।
चित्रकूटमिमं पश्य प्रवृद्धशिखरं गिरिम्॥
mātaṅga-yūthānusṛtaṁ pakṣi-saṅghānunāditam
citrakūṭam imaṁ paśya pravṛddha-śikharaṁ girim
mātaṅga-yūtha-anusṛtam = it is filled with herds of elephants; pakṣi-saṅgha-anunāditam = it is filled with the sounds of birds; citrakūṭam = Citrakūṭa; imam = this; paśya = look at; pravṛddha-śikharam = with tall peaks; girim = mountain.
Look at this mountain Citrakūṭa with tall peaks.1 It is filled with herds of elephants. It is filled with the sounds of birds.
