Chapter 56: Rāma Reaches Citrakūṭa
Text 2.56.26
भ्रातुर्वचनमाज्ञाय लक्ष्मणः परवीरहा।
चकार स यथोक्तं च तं रामः पुनरब्रवीत्॥
bhrātur vacanam ājñāya lakṣmaṇaḥ para-vīrahā
cakāra sa yathoktaṁ ca taṁ rāmaḥ punar abravīt
bhrātuḥ = of His brother; vacanam = the words; ājñāya = understanding; lakṣmaṇaḥ = Lakṣmaṇa; para-vīrahā = the destroyer of His heroic opponents; cakāra saḥ = did; yathā-uktam = as He was told; ca = then; tam = Him; rāmaḥ = Rāma; punaḥ = again; abravīt = told [the following].
Understanding the words of His brother, Lakṣmaṇa, the destroyer of His heroic opponents, did as He was told.1 Rāma again told Him [the following].
