Chapter 58: Sumantra Conveys the Message of Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa
Text 2.58.36
उद्वीक्षमाणा भर्तारं मुखेन परिशुष्यता।
मुमोच सहसा बाष्पं मां प्रयान्तमुदीक्ष्य सा॥
udvīkṣamāṇā bhartāraṁ mukhena pariśuṣyatā
mumoca sahasā bāṣpaṁ māṁ prayāntam udīkṣya sā
udvīkṣamāṇā = and she looked up; bhartāram = at her husband; mukhena = her face; pariśuṣyatā = had dried up; mumoca = she shed; sahasā = suddenly; bāṣpam = tears; mām = me; prayāntam = going; udīkṣya = saw; sā = when she.
Her face had dried up and she looked up at her husband. When she saw me going, she suddenly shed tears.

Sītā-devī then noticed her husband who was crying. She cried upon seeing Sumantra leave because she was unable to bear the thought, “Now that the chariot has gone, how will Śrī Rāma walk in the cruel forest on His feet?”1
