Chapter 60: Kausalyā Continues to Lament
Text 2.60.5
त्यज शोकं च मोहं च संभ्रमं दुःखजं तथा।
व्यवधूय च संतापं वने वत्स्यति राघवः॥
tyaja śokaṁ ca mohaṁ ca sambhramaṁ duḥkhajaṁ tathā
vyavadhūya ca santāpaṁ vane vatsyati rāghavaḥ
tyaja = so give up; śokam ca = your anxiety; moham ca = perplexity; sambhramam = agitation; duḥkhajam = due to sorrow; tathā = and; vyavadhūya ca = setting aside; santāpam = bodily distresses; vane = in the forest; vatsyati = will reside; rāghavaḥ = Rāghava.
Setting aside bodily distresses, Rāghava will reside in the forest. So give up your anxiety, perplexity and agitation due to sorrow.
Sumantra wanted Kausalyā-devī to set aside her perplexity—”What will happen to Rāma?”
