Chapter 60: Kausalyā Continues to Lament
Text 2.60.18
अलक्तरसरक्ताभावलक्तरसवर्जितौ।
अद्यापि चरणौ तस्याः पद्मकोशसमप्रभौ॥
alakta-rasa-raktābhāv alakta-rasa-varjitau
adyāpi caraṇau tasyāḥ padma-kośa-sama-prabhau
alakta-rasa-rakta-ābhau = and yet shine with red color of the lac; alakta-rasa-varjitau = are without lac; adya api = even now while she is walking in the forest; caraṇau = feet; tasyāḥ = her; padma-kośa-sama-prabhau = they are as radiant as the whorl of a lotus.
Her feet are without lac and yet shine with the red color of the lac. Even now while she is walking in the forest, they are as radiant as the whorl of a lotus.
