Chapter 60: Kausalyā Continues to Lament
Text 2.60.21
na śocyāḥ te = there is neither any need to lament about Sītā, Rāma, Lakṣmaṇa; na ca ātmānaḥ = or any of us; śocyaḥ na api = nor is there any need to lament; jana-adhipaḥ = about the king; idam hi = for this; caritam = activity of Rāma; loke = in this world; pratiṣṭhāsyati = will become renowned; śāsvatam = permanent.
There is neither any need to lament about Sītā, Rāma, Lakṣmaṇa, or any of us nor is there any need to lament about the king, for this activity of Rāma will become permanently renowned in this world.
“This activity of Rāma” refers to His activity of fulfilling the instruction of His father. It will become permanently renowned, that is, as long as the moon and sun exist.
