Chapter 62: Kausalyā Pacifies Daśaratha
Text 2.62.9
सा त्वं धर्मपरा नित्यं दृष्टलोकपरावरा।
नार्हसे विप्रियं वक्तुं दुःखितापि सुदुःखितम्॥
sā tvaṁ dharma-parā nityaṁ dṛṣṭa-loka-parāvarā
nārhase vipriyaṁ vaktuṁ duḥkhitāpi suduḥkhitam
sā tvam = you are; dharma-parā = intent on dharma; nityam = always; dṛṣṭa-loka-parāvarā = you have seen superior and inferior people in the world; na arhase = you should not; vipriyam = displeasingly; vaktum = speak; duḥkhitā api = though you are distressed; suduḥkhitam = to me who am very distressed.
You are always intent on dharma. You have seen superior and inferior people in the world. Though you are distressed, you should not speak displeasingly to me who am very distressed.
