Chapter 63: Daśaratha Remembering Killing a Sage’s Innocent Son
Text 2.63.51

संस्तभ्य शोकं धैर्येण स्थिरचित्तो भवानघ।
ब्रह्महत्याकृतं पापं हृदयादपनीयताम्॥

saṁstabhya sokaṁ dhairyeṇa sthira-citto bhavānagha
brahma-hatyā-kṛtaṁ pāpaṁ hṛdayād apanīyatām

saṁstabhya = control; sokam = your distress; dhairyeṇa = with patience; sthira-cittaḥ = your mind; bhava = and pacify; anagha = O sinless one; brahma-hatyā-kṛtam = caused by killing a brāhmaṇas; pāpam = sinful reactions; hṛdayāt apanīyatām = remove the thought [that you have attained].

O sinless one, control your distress with patience and pacify your mind. Remove the thought [that you have attained] sinful reactions caused by killing a brāhmaṇa.1
