Chapter 64: Daśaratha Gives up his Life in Remembrance of Lord Rāma
Text 2.64.11

मुनिमव्यक्तया वाचा तमहं सज्जमानया।
हीनव्यञ्जनया प्रेक्ष्य भीतो भीत इवाब्रवम्॥

munim avyaktayā vācā tam ahaṁ sajjamānayā
hīna-vyañjanayā prekṣya bhīto bhīta ivābravam

munim = sage; avyaktayā = speaking in a faltering; vācā = voice; tam = the; aham = I; sajjamānayā = and indistinct; hīna-vyañjanayā = inaudibly 2; prekṣya = noticing; bhītaḥ bhītaḥ iva = became extremely frightened; abravam = spoke.

Noticing the sage speaking in a faltering and indistinct voice, I became extremely frightened and spoke inaudibly.
