Canto 2 -
Ayodhyā-kāṇḍa
Chapter 64: Daśaratha Gives up his Life in Remembrance of Lord Rāma
Text 2.64.12

मनसः कर्मचेष्टाभिरभिसंस्तभ्य वाग्बलम्।
आचचक्षे त्वहं तस्मै पुत्रव्यसनजं भयम्॥

manasaḥ karma-ceṣṭābhir abhisaṁstabhya vāg-balam
ācacakṣe tv aham tasmai putra-vyasanajaṁ bhayam

manasaḥ = of my mind; karma-ceṣṭābhiḥ = by the activity and endeavor; abhisaṁstabhya = reinforced; vāk-balam = the strength of my voice; ācacakṣe tu = and spoke; aham = I; tasmai = to him; putra-vyasanajam = due to the calamity that had fallen upon his son; bhayam = about the danger.

I reinforced the strength of my voice by the activity and endeavor of my mind and spoke to him about the danger due to the calamity that had fallen upon his son.

The activity of mind consists of logically accepting and rejecting various propositions. The endeavor of the mind refers to control of the senses. Daśaratha’s speech had been faltering. He now strengthened his speech.
