Chapter 64: Daśaratha Gives up his Life in Remembrance of Lord Rāma
Text 2.64.30

तौ पुत्रमात्मनः स्पृष्ट्वा तमासाद्य तपस्विनौ।
निपेततुः शरीरेऽस्य पिता चास्येदमब्रवीत्॥

tau putram ātmanaḥ spṛṣṭvā tam āsādya tapasvinau
nipetatuḥ śarīre ’sya pitā cāsyedam abravīt

tau = the two; putram = son; ātmanaḥ = their; spṛṣṭvā = touched; tam = that spot; āsādya = having reached; tapasvinau = ascetics; nipetatuḥ = fell; śarīre = on body; asya = his; pitā = father; ca = and; asya = his; idam = the following words; abravīt = then spoke.

Having reached the spot, the two ascetics touched their son and fell on his body. His father then spoke the following words.
