Chapter 65: Daśaratha’s Wives Lament About his Departure
Text 2.65.7

ततः शुचिसमाचाराः पर्युपस्थानकोविदाः।
स्त्रीवर्षधरभूयिष्ठा उपतस्थुर्यथापुरम्।।

tataḥ śuci-samācārāḥ paryupasthāna-kovidāḥ
strī-varṣadhara-bhūyiṣṭhā upatasthur yathā-puram

tataḥ = then; śuci-samācārāḥ = and pure in conduct; paryupasthāna-kovidāḥ = expert in menial service; strī-varṣadhara-bhūyiṣṭhāḥ = mostly female superintendents of inner quarters and eunuchs; upatasthuḥ = arrived; yathā-puram = like [everyday] in the past.

Then ladies expert in menial service and pure in conduct, mostly female superintendents of the inner quarters and eunuchs, arrived like [everyday] in the past.

“Ladies expert in menial service” refers to those who were expert in rendering service appropriate to specific times.
