Chapter 65: Daśaratha’s Wives Lament About his Departure
Text 2.65.21
तासामाक्रन्दशब्देन सहसोद्गतचेतने।
कौसल्या च सुमित्रा च त्यक्तनिद्रे बभूवतुः॥
tāsām ākranda-śabdena sahasodgata-cetane
kausalyā ca sumitrā ca tyakta-nidre babhūvatuḥ
tāsām ākranda-śabdena = [on hearing] the sound of their cries; sahasā = immediately; udgata-cetane = regained their consciousness; kausalyā ca = Kausalyā; sumitrā = Sumitrā; ca = and; tyakta-nidre babhūvatuḥ = and gave up their sleep.
[On hearing] the sound of their cries, Kausalyā and Sumitrā immediately regained their consciousness and gave up their sleep.
