Chapter 65: Daśaratha’s Wives Lament About his Departure
Text 2.65.22
कौसल्या च सुमित्रा च दृष्ट्वा स्पृष्ट्वा च पार्थिवम्।
हा नाथेति परिक्रुश्य पेततुर्धरणीतले॥
kausalyā ca sumitrā ca dṛṣṭvā spṛṣṭvā ca pārthivam
hā nātheti parikruśya petatur dharaṇī-tale
kausalyā ca = Kausalyā; sumitrā = Sumitrā; ca = and; dṛṣṭvā = saw; spṛṣṭvā = touched; ca = and; pārthivam = the king; hā nātha iti = O lord; parikruśya = then, they loudly wailed; petatuḥ = and fell; dharaṇī-tale = on the floor.
Kausalyā and Sumitrā saw and touched the king. Then, they loudly wailed, “O lord!” and fell on the floor.
