Chapter 69: Bharata’s Distressing Dreams
Text 2.69.14
पीठे कार्ष्णायसे चैनं निषण्णं कृष्णवाससम्।
प्रहसन्ति स्म राजानं प्रमदाः कृष्णपिङ्गलाः॥
pīṭhe kārṣṇāyase cainaṁ niṣaṇṇaṁ kṛṣṇa-vāsasam
prahasanti sma rājānaṁ pramadāḥ kṛṣṇa-piṅgalāḥ
pīṭhe kārṣṇāyase = on a seat made of black iron; ca enam = [I saw] him; niṣaṇṇam = sitting; kṛṣṇa-vāsasam = in dark blue clothes; prahasanti sma = were laughing; rājānam = at the king; pramadāḥ = women; kṛṣṇa-piṅgalāḥ = dark brown.
“[I saw] him in dark blue clothes sitting on a seat made of black iron. Dark brown women were laughing at the king.
