Chapter 70: Bharata Departs from Rājagṛha
Text 2.70.23

अन्तःपुरेऽतिसंवृद्धान्व्याघ्रवीर्यबलान्वितान्।
दंष्ट्रायुधान्महाकायाञ्शुनश्चोपायनं ददौ॥

antaḥpure ’tisaṁvṛddhān vyāghra-vīrya-balānvitān
daṁṣṭrāyudhān mahā-kāyāñ śunaś copāyanaṁ dadau

antaḥpure = in the inner quarters; atisaṁvṛddhān = that had been grown up; vyāghra-vīrya-bala-anvitān = they had the strength and prowess of tigers; daṁṣṭra-āyudhān = their fangs were their weapons; mahā-kāyān = they were large-bodied; śunaḥ = dogs; ca = ad; upāyanam = as gifts; dadau = he also gave.

He also gave as gifts dogs that had been grown up in the inner quarters. They had the strength and prowess of tigers. Their fangs were their weapons and they were large-bodied.
