Chapter 70: Bharata Departs from Rājagṛha
Text 2.70.27

अभ्यतीत्य ततोऽपश्यदन्तःपुरमुदारधीः।
ततस्तद्भरतः श्रीमानाविवेशानिवारितः॥

abhyatītya tato ’paśyad antaḥ-puram udāradhīḥ
tatas tad bharataḥ śrīmān āviveśānivāritaḥ

abhyatītya = left the grand road; tataḥ = then; apaśyat = saw; antaḥ-puram = the king’s inner quarters; udāradhīḥ = the greatly intelligent; tataḥ1 tat = it; bharataḥ = Bharata; śrīmān = beautiful; āviveśa = and entered; anivāritaḥ = without being restricted entry.

The greatly intelligent beautiful Bharata then left the grand road, saw the king’s inner quarters and entered it without being restricted entry.1

1 Bharata was in great anxiety to go to Ayodhyā as soon as possible. But when he noticed the inner quarters of the King of Kekaya, He decided to go in and have a final word with him before setting out.
