Chapter 71: Bharata Reaches Ayodhyā
Text 2.71.12
तत्र रम्ये वने वासं कृत्वासौ प्राङ्मुखो ययौ।
उद्यानमुज्जिहानायाः प्रियका यत्र पादपाः॥
tatra ramye vane vāsaṁ kṛtvāsau prāṅ-mukho yayau
udyānam ujjihānāyāḥ priyakā yatra pādapāḥ
tatra = nearby; ramye = in a pleasant; vane = village; vāsam kṛtvā = stayed; asau = He; prāk-mukhaḥ = towards the west; yayau = and then departed; udyānam = to a garden; ujjihānāyāḥ = in the city Ujjihānā; priyakāḥ = bandhūka and kadamba; yatra = that had; pādapāḥ = trees.
He stayed in a pleasant village nearby and then departed towards the west, to a garden in the city Ujjihānā that had bandhūka and kadamba trees.1
